Black Forest

A highly sought-after property market among investors and potential homeowners.

Welcome to Black Forest

Spacious homes in a densely forested rural community

Surrounded by golden prairies and dense gatherings of Ponderosa pine trees lies the idyllic rural community of Black Forest. Known for its large, treed property lots and expansive homes, Black Forest is popular among families in search of a quieter, nature-centric way of life. Famously the location of a haunted house, Black Forest is a region steeped in history, with a very tight-knit community that only adds to its rural appeal.

Despite its relatively isolated location, Black Forest has recently become a highly sought-after property market among investors and potential homeowners in search of acreage and rural homestead-style living. Properties available in the area can range from quaint log cabins to sprawling residences with luxury finishes and beautifully maintained gardens and yards. The region is also popular among buyers in search of land on which to build custom homes and estates.

Although Black Forest maintains a sense of isolation among a vast expanse of forested land, the area is surprisingly close to the center of Colorado Springs, which is located a mere 19 miles away by car.

Black Forest residents typically choose the region for its rural feel and large property lots. As such, the local lifestyle often revolves around developing their properties and enjoying the abundant peace of the natural landscape. However, with the bustling center of Colorado Springs just a short drive away, residents never need to feel completely isolated and can easily pop into the city for shopping, dining, or enjoying Colorado Springs’ many entertainment venues.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Despite being a rural community, Black Forest has many local dining and boutique retail establishments. The Black Forest Bistro serves delicious handcrafted food and drinks in a cozy, relaxed setting. They also offer takeaway charcuterie boards for up to 10 people per board. The area’s most popular watering hole is undoubtedly the Black Forest Brewing Company, where friends, family, and neighbors gather to enjoy the in-house brews, wines, and spirits alongside a rustic pub grub menu.

Firehouse on the Run is another exceptionally well-liked local eatery that serves hearty barbecue meat and dishes while regularly hosting live music and entertainment events. And, for those in search of the perfect pizza pie to take home, no one in Black Forest does it better than Pies and Grinders, which offers pizzas, grinders, and wings in three locations around Colorado Springs.

Things to Do

Thanks to Black Forest’s location in the heart of a vast natural landscape, it’s no surprise much of the community’s most popular things to do revolve around the outdoors. The Fox Run Regional Park is a beautifully kept green space offering visitors an array of amenities including gazebos, picnic tables, volleyball courts, and cycling and hiking trails. Thanks to its rustic charm, Black Forest also hosts several beloved festivals, including the Black Forest Festival weekend, which occurs annually around August and hosts a beer garden alongside several live events and family-friendly activities.

A Black Forest Christmas, another annual staple, brings all the Christmas cheer of lights, carols, food, and hot drinks to the community, while the Oktoberfest & Trunk-or-Treat brings all the best of German food, brews, and fun right to your doorstep.
